Justice served

broken mirror

God says that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8). The Bible also says that no fornicator, no idolater, no adulterer, no thief, no coveter and no drunkard will get into Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).

Heaven or Hell?

What then will God do with you? Like many others, you might think "I'll just tell God I'm sorry, he'll forgive me". Really?! Try that in a court-of-law. What if someone you loved were raped or murdered? What if the guilty perpetrator stood before the judge with abundant proof of his guilt and told the judge he was sorry? What if he then asked for forgiveness and got it?! What if he was set free simply for saying he was sorry?! Would you consider that justice? Or would you be the person we would see on the national evening news hopping-mad in front of the courthouse screaming of this travesty of justice?!

As a just judge, God must punish the guilty to the fullest extent of the Law.

If a Canadian judge cannot let a guilty criminal go simply because he is sorry, how much more the just judge of the universe; God?! God is justice! God is so just that he will punish evildoers like Adolph Hitler; he will punish murderers and rapists. He is so just, that He will also punish adulterers, thieves, blasphemers and liars. (Jeremiah 23:5, Acts 17:31)

What does justice demand?

If God gave you justice, on Judgement Day, would he then sentence you to punishment in the Lake of Fire ... Hell, or to reward in Heaven? Be honest, you know justice demands the guilty receive punishment for lawbreaking (sin). As a just judge, God must punish the guilty to the fullest extent of the Law. God is justice (Deuteronomy 10:17-18, Job 8:3, Psalm 89:14).

Does this concern you? It should concern you a lot! It should make you very fearful ... it did me. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction." (Proverbs 1:7 ESV)
